We Serve
The Ursuline motto is "Serviam," which translates to "I will serve." This is inscribed on all of the class rings of the women graduating from an Ursuline school, and represents her commitment to serve in the name of Christ as she goes forth into the world.
Again drawing from this spirit of St. Angela Merici, the Women @ the Well commit ourselves to a life of service, that first begins with those around us, with those directly in our care. We recognize that we must first care for those whom God has given us - those who live under the same roof as us, those we work with, those who live next to us. But we also recognize the need to pray for and help the greater world community in whatever way we can, so we volunteer with organizations like The Storybook Project.
We serve by intentionally making an offering of our daily activities, combined with prayer, on behalf of others. In this way, we combine the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy. Through this practice, we slowly convert all the minutes of our days into offerings for others and the world, in imitation of Christ. Many of us use the form below as a helpful guide during our days.
