Who are the Women @ the Well?
Women @ the Well is a gathering of women of all ages, and from all stages of life, who are involved in many different ministries. What unites us all is that, like the Samaritan woman in the gospel, we seek to encounter Christ and receive the "living water," enabling a life-changing response in ourselves, our families and our communities.
To commit ourselves to a greater, more personal relationship with Jesus, we focus on five aspects: to SHARE, to PRAY, to LEARN, to SERVE and to BELIEVE. We are especially formed by following the spirituality of St. Angela Merici, founder of the Ursuline order, who believed that the transformation of the world starts with every woman, through causing a ripple effect that begins in her own home. Although St. Angela's original order was solely for unmarried women, we welcome women in all stages and states of life. This ministry began with a small group of women at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, in Austin, Texas. It's now open to all women with a Catholic heart, who are seeking the "living water." |
